GA3: SOCHUM
Agenda Item: The ignorance of human rights in the genocide in Sudan.
The ongoing armed conflicts and political instability in Sudan have resulted in serious and widespread violations of the fundamental human rights of civilians. The civilian population—particularly women, children, and internally displaced persons—continues to face grave abuses, including violence, forced displacement, and restricted access to humanitarian assistance.
The United Nations General Assembly Third Committee (Social, Cultural, and Humanitarian Affairs) aims to draw international attention to the human rights crisis in Sudan, protect civilians, ensure unhindered access to humanitarian aid, and develop sustainable solutions within the framework of international law.
On the first day, delegates will discuss the issues outlined above in the context of their respective countries’ policies.
On the second day, participants will work to identify a common solution that aligns with each nation’s stance and collaborate to prepare a comprehensive draft resolution addressing the crisis.
