Esteemed Members of the MUN Community,
This letter aims to affirm the longstanding work and institutional role of the Model United Nations (MUN) Club at our high school. Founded fourteen years ago at the direct request and initiative of our students, the club has since developed into a reputable platform for diplomatic education, global awareness, and leadership development within our school community.
Throughout its existence, our MUN Club has successfully organised five in-person MUN conferences in Istanbul, each conducted in accordance with internationally recognised standards. Moreover, during the global pandemic, the club demonstrated adaptability and consistency by hosting one fully online conference, maintaining engagement and academic rigour despite extraordinary circumstances.
Our membership includes only students in Years 9, 10, and 11. The club functions through a structured internal hierarchy: Year 11 students act as Head Students, assuming responsibilities similar to Secretariat members in a standard MUN structure. They lead weekly club sessions, deliver instructional workshops, and mentor delegates-in-training in mastering MUN principles, committee conduct, resolution drafting, and diplomatic discourse. All academic and procedural elements of our programme follow the Harvard Procedure closely, ensuring alignment with internationally recognised standards of competitive MUN practice.
We are pleased to announce that our upcoming conference, DENMUN’26, will be held at Denizatı Schools, Ataşehir Campus, from 2–3 May 2026. We look forward to once again bringing together dedicated delegates who embody the spirit of diplomacy, constructive dialogue, and international cooperation.
Respectfully,
Model United Nations Club Advisor
